Our educational approach focuses on personal growth, independence, and professional readiness rather than traditional lecture-style teaching.
Teaching Methods
- 5-Week Blocks: You study a maximum of two subjects every five weeks. This allows you to immerse yourself in the material without feeling overwhelmed by too many topics at once.
- Learning over Teaching: We focus on active learning through:
- Small Groups: Classes of around 30 students often break into even smaller study groups.
- Professional Tasks: Assignments are designed to resemble real-world professional challenges.
- Entrepreneurial Focus: Located in the Cupola of Haarlem, the campus puts you in the heart of a business environment, providing perfect conditions for networking and support.
- Independence: Our concept encourages self-determination, helping you develop independence and self-advocacy skills.
Examinations
Every module includes assessments to determine your final grade. At Haarlem Campus, we move away from traditional paper-based exams.
- Format: Exams are usually split into two or more parts (e.g., a presentation, debate, project, or interview). Don't worry—you will practice these styles in class before the actual assessment.
- Passing Grade: You must score a minimum total of 60% to pass a module.
- Resits: If you score below 60%, you can either resit the specific assessment or redo the entire module the next time it is offered.
- Grading Criteria: All exams are graded based on learning objectives found in your course syllabus.
